A/Prof Ashish Srinivasan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist who combines public appointments at Austin Health and Eastern Health with private practice in Melbourne’s north-east. He completed post-fellowshp training in colonoscopy and IBD in Oxford (UK), and in intestinal ultrasound (IUS) in Germany – going on to establish and lead the IUS service at Austin Health and privately at Melbourne Bowel Ultrasound. He also sits on the executive committee of GENIUS (Australia’s peak IUS organisation) and GESA’s national IBD committee.

Ashish has a particular interest in bowel disorders and colonoscopy. He is a skilled endoscopist (gastroscopy, colonoscopy, PillCam) with access to regular private and public endoscopy lists. He welcomes referrals from all aspects of gastroenterology, including bowel cancer screening & polyp surveillance, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), iron deficiency anaemia, gastro-oesophageal reflux and liver disorders. He is happy to be contacted directly by GPs to provide advice, discuss patients and accommodate urgent referrals.

Ashish maintains a keen interest in the latest medical therapies and has been invited to present his research at local and international conferences. He has been awarded several competitive scholarships and awards for his research endeavors, including a Monash Graduate Excellence Scholarship and a Monash University Department of Medicine Postgraduate Excellence Award, presented to the top two PhD candidates based on academic merit and research potential.

He also remains active in clinical teaching and research through appointments as a Clinical Associate Professor at both The University of Melbourne and Monash University.
