Dr Scott Patterson is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and a qualified gastroenterologist and hepatologist. His advanced training was at the Austin Health Liver Transplant Unit and his postgraduate doctorate research was conducted at the University of Melbourne in the area of viral hepatitis; specifically prevention of post-liver transplant Hepatitis B. He has also completed a Masters of Clinical Education at the University of Melbourne.

Scott works at Austin Health as a Gastroenterologist and in the Department of General Medicine, and is Head of General Medicine Unit 5.

For more than ten years, Scott was Training Program Director for the RACP training program at Austin Health and Co-Director of the Central NorthWest Consortium for Physician Training.  He previously worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the Royal Free Hospital in London.

Scott’s interests in private practice are general gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy. He performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy at Warringal Private Hospital, and capsule endoscopy in the rooms.
