Dr Michelle Goodwin completed her medical degree at The University of Melbourne, graduating with honours in 1999. She undertook her training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Austin Hospital. After completing her gastroenterology training, she undertook a PhD in liver disease, studying the association between liver fibrosis and diabetes. During her PhD she was awarded a scholarship by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia.
Michelle has an appointment at the Austin Hospital as a visiting specialist. Michelle is happy to consult on all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology, with a particular interest in irritable bowel syndrome and other functional gut disorders, Coeliac disease, reflux disease and other oesophageal disorders. Michelle is happy to discuss patients with GPs or other specialists and will accommodate urgent referrals.
Michelle is married with three young children, who keep her very busy outside of work.
